French Language and Relaxation
The city of Vichy is situated in the region of Auvergne, and is the capital of the department of the Allier. The town is positioned to the north west of Lyon and lies on the banks of the river Allier.
PROGRAM: One week all year round (All levels, test on arrival)
· Morning: 18 lessons per week - French course
· Afternoon: choice of balneotherapy or golf.
Balneotherapy: “The Celestins” Spa – a magnificent Health, Beauty and Fitness centre, using the virtues of thermal spring water in the most modern treatment techniques. 2 treatments per day (massages, hydro massages, seaweed wrap), access to the Jacuzzi, sauna, Hammam, gym and relaxation room.
Golf: prestigious 18-hole golf course (par 70)
Classified player: 1 green-fee per day
Non-classified players: 1 or 2 hours of lesson per day

Participants will also discover practical notions of culinary heritage, ranging from products to the people who transform them, from the imaginary to the practical aspects, from the landscapes to the art of entertaining.

· Morning: 36 lessons of 45 min per week - French course
· Afternoon: 10 afternoons and 2 evenings: Themed conferences, cookery workshops, meals in restaurants, tasting sessions, visits to culinary craftsmen and local producers in a studious, but fun atmosphere. Each intervention is adapted to the language level of the group, to its study and/or professional profile and its objectives.
Conferences: history of French gastronomy, traditional and country recipes, wine, bread and cheese, labels, restaurant reviews and guides, great French chefs from the 19th century onwards
Cookery workshops: traditional and country dishes, oenology, making pastry, making chocolate, creative cookery
Visits: the Vichy market, farming and making of foie gras, bakery, pastry shop, wine grower, chocolate maker, meeting and cooking with the chef in a gourmet restaurant
2 gourmet meals in fine restaurants
CERTIFICATE
At the end of the course, students receive a certificate co-signed by CAVILAM and the Hotel & Catering training centre, the course co-ordinator and the ‘Chef’.
CAVILAM is a Language School, world-recognised, specialised in teaching French as a foreign language
