Bonjour Marc,
In short, our holiday was amazing and everywhere we went and all the accommodation was wonderful, just how we like it. The actual day to day plan worked well for us with not too much driving in between towns. Ile de Re was the stand-out location as it became a holiday within the holiday itself. La Clarisse was particularly lovely and they gave us an upgrade to junior suites. A great location and away from the hustle of the main Toiras hotel on the water front.
WW1 tour we all got a lot out of and Vic told many interesting stories and was an excellent tour guide, though quite an unusual character! The B&B was OK, clean and cosy and his wife was delightful and presented us with a lovely breakfast each morning.
Thank you very much for your expert advice, which we greatly appreciate, and hope we, can go to France again in the future!

Our travel agent, Marc Pilcer booked us into an apartment-hotel in a little oasis of hotels, restaurants and parks east of the central city. It is very quiet - no through traffic. The locals come from miles away to sit outside the cafes and smoke. There was a farmers' market in the courtyard every day last week but it has gone this week. When I walk the 4 blocks to the internet cafe I am suddenly in the mad bustle of a busy suburban shopping street. You wouldn't believe the two areas are so close.

Just a quick note to advise that we sorted out all the travel arrangements and had a great day with Vic , on the battlefields;
Weather started out OK , but turned very cool and finished with rain:
Nonetheless it was great;
Vic is a fantastic guide. So well informed and enthusiastic about his job. He can relate the most absorbing and interesting stories, facts etc about WW1 and especially (for us) the part the Aussies played in that area of the conflict.
Mate, he really knows his stuff, I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Just a quick line to let you know that all went smoothly in France for us.
Would especially like to let you know that our tours in Bordeaux and Sarlat were excellent.
We spent three days with Nancy from Ophorus in Sarlat. She was a wonderful host and we would recommend her company highly.

Dear Marc,
Thank for your work on our holiday which was very successful.
The accommodation in Paris was ideal as was the hotels in Milan and Innsbruck.
The train travel was great and gave us time to relax and view our surrounds. The transfer from the train station to Charles De Gaulle was a great idea as it took us 3 hours process the airport.

A note of sincere thanks for organizing our french episode so magnificently. It realy was a great experience - exactly what we wanted - except for the rain on the candlelight procession at Lourdes.
Thank you for organising our trip to Aix en Provence it has been most relaxing and enjoyable (including the calissons)

Just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time in France and everything worked out well.
The place you recommended in La Roche Bernard, Manoir du Rodoir was absolutely gorgeous, something completely different from a hotel or an apartment and the couple that manage it were lovely people.
Also the Hotel de L'Ocean in Biarritz was cute and in a fantastic location.
So I just wanted to thank you for all your help and great advice which resulted in us having a fabulous holiday.
