Besides these ancients’ monuments, Arles also holds beautiful buildings from the 16th, 17th and 18th century. It is also the point of departure of the Arles Route, one of the three routes leading to Santiago de Compostela. The Arles route is also known as way of Arles or via Tolosana. Since 1986, the city has been classified as a « City of art and history».

A sightseeing excursion in Provence, leaving from Arles, to see some of the most beautiful villages of France including the Lavender Museum and the ancient Roman aqueduct. Start with a Roman escapade to the famous site of the Pont du Gard dated from the first century and classified by UNESCO. It's the most amazing and best-preserved part of the Roman aqueduct which supplied water to Nîmes. Stop at the Antiques in Saint Rémy de Provence (Triumphal Arch and mausoleum) located in a field of olive trees, landscape painted several times by Van Gogh. Les Baux de Provence, village located upon a rock at 245 meters of altitude, with its historical pedestrian centre: the museum of santons, the Hôtel des Porcelets, beautiful house of the 16th century, the St Vincent Church Romanesque style building...

Roussillon, one of «the most beautiful villages in France» famous for its red and yellow ochre cliffs, unusual natural landscape. Gordes, perched village in Luberon, one of «the most beautiful villages in France», famous for the architecture of dry stones. Visit of the Lavender Museum to discover the flower symbol of Provence. Demonstration of distillation during the harvest (from July to August).

LTA3 – LAVENDER – FULL DAY $154 p.person
Discover the sceneries of lavender fields in bloom in Provence, visit the hilltop village of Gordes, admire the lavender field of Senanque abbey (from mid-June to mid-August) and learn the secrets of the flower at the lavender museum. Discover a traditional open market everyday in a different village of Provence and appreciate its stalls which present a shimmering palette of fruits and vegetables... Drive along a picturesque road through wild lavender fields to Sault, lavender capital or Roussillon.
Free time in Sault or Roussillon to wander and do shopping in lavender shops. You will appreciate the lavender: essence, flowers, honey... Lunch on your own.
Drive to Coustellet across wild lavender fields and small picturesque villages: St Jean, Lioux, and Gordes. Gordes, perched village in Luberon, one of «the most beautiful villages in France» entirely stone-built. Stop (only during the flowering period from 15 June to 15 July) at the Senanque Abbey, Cistercian monument surrounded by a wonderful lavender field.
Visit of the Lavender Museum in Coustellet, where you’ll know everything about lavender: video, exhibition, and demonstration of distillation.
