This tour will allow you to discover the best Dordogne has to offer. Start the tour with a guided visit of Sarlat. Then continue with a walking tour in
two delightful small villages: Beynac and La Roque Gageac. Enjoy a boat ride along the Dordogne River. The next stop will be in Les Eyzies de Tayac, the world capital of Prehistory as this is the town where Cro-Magnon was discovered. Here you will visit the National Prehistory Museum. Finally, end the day with the visit of Lascaux II a perfect reproduction of the original cave.

OP2 - CASTLES OF THE DORDOGNE VALLEY (8 hours) – $146

In the morning, depart towards the Dordogne valley. By Carsac-Aillac and Montfort depart along the Dordogne valley. First discover and visit the mighty castle of Castelnaud a medieval fortress overlooking the Dordogne River, erected to face its rival, the Château de Beynac. Then visit of the Milandes castle. Built around 1489, it was the main house of the lords of Caumont until 1535. In 1940, the entertainer Josephine Baker rented the château and then bought it in 1947. Finally end the day with the visit of the Castle and Gardens of Marqueyssac: listed as a National Historical Monument it offers more than 6 kilometres of shaded paths, edged with 150 000 hand-pruned hundred year old boxwoods.

OP3 - LASCAUX II & THE ART OF THE CAVES (8 hours) – $146

Some 15,000 years B.C. unknown painters created breathtaking cave paintings of which the most extraordinary examples are found in the Dordogne area. During this day enjoy some time in Les Eyzies where one will visit the National Prehistory Museum. Continue to Rouffignac Cave that possesses original and authentic paintings. OP4 - ROCAMADOUR/PADIRAC ABYSS/EYRIGNAC GARDENS (8½hrs) - $146

Set off on an excursion to the Padirac abyss, a natural, 75 metre chasm that shows on the limestone plateau of the "Causse de Gramat" in the Lot, below which, at 103 metres underground flows a river. Visit and boat ride in the Abyss. Then off to the pilgrimage and fortress town of Rocamadour. Visit of the sanctuary and free time for lunch and personal discovery. Finally stop at the Gardens of Eyrignac Manor, which are among the most famous and beautiful in France.

OP5 - PECH MERLE / ST CIRQ LAPOPIE / CAHORS (8 hours) - $146

The Quercy region is on your program for today. We first head towards the fascinating cave of Perch Merle that still bears some authentic cave paintings of the Magdalenian era. From there we depart for the wonderful village of St Cirq Lapopie, known to be the most beautiful of all the beautiful villages of France. Finally, we will stop in Cahors to admire the only remaining medieval fortified bridge of Europe.
