Hotel des Lacs d'Halco - Hagetmau, Aquitaine
Address:
Route de Cazalis, Hagetmau, Landes, France
Description:
Once upon a time, in a charming area between lake and forest, there was an amazing Hotel Restaurant. Like an ocean liner made of glass, stone and wood, mooring alongside a lake, it offers an enchanting and Zen atmosphere and is the ideal place to regenerate.
We invite you on a cruise in our dining room, like a water Lilly, it is sitting on the lake, and offers a panoramic view on the lakes and nature.
Same feeling in our 24 comfortable and quiet rooms facing the lake or the forest.
From the rooms floor you have a direct access to our semicircular indoor pool.
Refined and innovative cuisine fashioned by Annie Demen inspired by the seasons and tradition.
Children: 11 and under

Local Attractions:
Musee de la Faience et des Arts de la Table - Samadet
Interesting, well-illustrated display, retracing the history of faience and of the local works.
Accessible to people of restricted mobility.
In the first room, an explanatory plan and a model of the site illustrate the history of the manufacture. The different production stages and the various types of faience are also presented. The second room displays the collections and the third contains a fascinating exhibition devoted to tableware from the Middle Ages to the present day, as well as a collection of faience of different periods and origins. The visit ends with an illustration of the ceramics road between the West and medieval China.
Maison de la Dame de Brassempouy - Brassempouy
Archaeological digs in Brassempouy and wonderful Paleolithic finds.
Accessible to people of restricted mobility.
The name refers to the famous "Dame ? la capuche" (Lady with the cowl), known as the Venus de Brassempouy, a mammoth-ivory statuette dating from 23000 BC. The exhibition area, fitted out as a cave, presents the archaeological excavations carried out on the site during the 19C and 20C and in particular the conditions which led to the discovery of the statuette. Objets d'art and daily-life items are displayed in the "alcove de Venus" together with casts of statuettes found in Brassempouy and other female figurines of the upper Paleolithic period. A brief survey of the region from yesterday to today rounds off the visit.
Plumacon Arenas - Mont-de-Marsan
For bullfighting fans.
An empty arena looks rather miserable so it is preferable to arrange a visit when a bullfight is being held during the Madeleine festival or when bulls are being run. A visit backstage includes the chapel and operating theatre.
