The rock and caves are open to visitors This peaceful village arouses curiosity thanks to its impressive houses perched on the tufa cliffs and noteworthy architectural elements from the 16, 17 and 18C hidden away in its streets. Be sure to visit the place de la Mairie, the square where the 18C town hall stands, the belfry (15C) and a fountain. Enjoy a drink in the shade of the plane trees on the central avenue before making your way towards the rock that dominates the area. The cave, where villagers used to hide their provision, affords a lovely panoramic view.
Rue de la Juiverie: In the former ghetto of Draguignan, note the vast facade of a former synagogue dating back to the 13C.
Municipal Museum:
An Ursuline convent, once the summer residence of the Bishop of Frejus, houses collections of ceramics (Vallauris, Moustiers and Sevres), Dutch and French paintings (Teniers, Rembrandt, Greuze, Ziem and Hals) and a fine sculpture by Camille Claudel ( Dream at the Fireside, 1903).
