Ricordeau was created in 1870. It was formerly a renowned coaching inn, where carriages visiting this peaceful village would stop for the night. Some time later, the post house became a nationally famous hotel-restaurant. Loue was a favorite stopping place for travelers from Paris to Brittany. Monsieur et Madame Herman took over the establishment four years ago and offer guests a completely refurbished hotel on two floors, with bathrooms equipped with hairdryers and television.
Breakfast is a buffet of cold meats, cheeses, fruit salads and "Homemade" jams...
In Loue, land of poultry farming, gastronomy is nothing less than a philosophy. The hotel's gastronomic restaurant is warm and inviting, with large paving stones and a welcoming fireplace. It is located on a spacious veranda which opens out onto the landscaped garden. Upholding Loue's high gastronomic reputation, our chef Jean-Yves Herman, winner of the 11th "Coq Saint-Honore 1996" International Trophy and Rennes Gastronomic Trophy, invites guests to savour the delights mouthwatering symphony of dishes with authentic products of sarthoise cuisine. Experience a taste sensation... try the canette fermiere de Loue (Loue Farmhouse Duck), stuffed with cepe mushrooms and foie gras, accompanied by celery charlotte and "Suzette" potatoes or the chicken flavored by the subtle floral aroma of Jasnieres, the delicious white wine from the Loire valley. Our wine menu includes a wide range of different vintages. You can also sip an aperitif or liqueur at the bar.
