Overlooking the town of Nogent-le-Rotrou, the St. Jean Castle occupies a wonderful place. Located at the end of the plateau cut by the Huisne it overlooks five valleys, as well as the roads from Le Mans to Chartres, and from Chateaudun to Belleme. It is at a crossroads between the Ile-de-France, Maine and Normandy.
St. Jean Castle, built on the southwestern edge of the plateau, had only one access on the valley of the Huisne northwest side (currently rue du Chateau). This access was very distant from the people who are at the foot of the castle. At the beginning of the sixteenth century, the ladies of Armagnac did built the 155 steps and a parallel road to facilitate the comings and goings between the castle and in the village below.
The sports and recreation park of Nogent-le-Rotrou and Margon On 21 acres: Base recreation and pond "De La Borde" in the valley of Huisne near Nogent Le Rotrou. Fishing, games for children, rowing-boat, fitness, boating (pedal boat, small boat, waterskiing bicycle, windsurfing, sailing ship)
