Local Attractions:

Figeac “Ville d’art et d’histoire” was founded in the 4th century around a benedictine abbey and is a well known halt on the pilgrim ways to Santiago de Compostela. Figeac, medieval city displays for all to see the skill of builders in mastering the laws of balance and harmony. Champollion was born in Figeac in 1790, in the heart of the city. Since then, the “place de l’écriture” is present to understand how the genius found the meanings of the hieroglyphs.
In and around, Cahors and the Lot Valley excursions – the city, the vineyards, the river “Lot”. You sail from a starting point 200 m from Valentré bridge at Port Bullier. Before that, the little road train of Cahors will drive you through the old town and then aboard the boat…departure for vineyards, castles, gastronomy and the “black diamond” area. You will find out more about the truffle of the Lot.
Rocamadour, a focal point of mediaeval christianity located in a magnificent impressive setting on top of a rock. This site is the second most visited site in France. Another village perched on its rocky spur is Saint Cirq Lapopie, outstanding among the most beautiful villages in France.
The regional Natural Park of the Causses du Quercy, where you will enjoy walking, riding and cycling. Whatever type of outdoor activity you enjoy, one of the Lot’s incredibly varied landscapes will be just right for you : from the limestone plateau of the Causse, which harbours some of the most ancient inhabited caves, to the rivers that carve their way through the rock, or glide lazily past the noble façades of castles.
