The Jack's Hotel offers 30 comfortable rooms with contemporary decoration.
The history of Jack’s Hotel is quite unique. Jean Genet, one of the greatest writers, poets and dramatists of the 20th century, passed away in one of the hotel’s bedrooms during the night of 15 April 1986.
His sudden death came whilst he was still proofreading his last novel, "Prisoner of Love", which was published posthumously the same year.
Jean Genet had once served a prison sentence for petty theft (including stealing books) and he had a particular fondness for the hotel’s small room 205, which reminded him of his period of incarceration.
As a tribute to the author, Jack's Hotel has retained the intimate atmosphere appreciated by Jean Genet and decorated room 205 in his image, with a single bed, a beautiful bookcase and a selection of poetry and portraits from the time.
