Arrival in Tours in the late morning.
Check in to a two, three or four star hotel in the city centre of Tours.
13.30 Set off in an all-comfort, chauffeur-driven minibus for a first trip to the discovery of three prestigious châteaux of the Loire.
You will visit (non-guided tour - you're free to explore): the Château de Chenonceau. Built in the sixteenth century, this is one of the purest early French Renaissance style works.
Constructed on the foundations of an ancient fortified water mill in the river bed itself, the square main building forms the original château. On the “Pont de Diane” bridge stands the two-level gallery of Catherine de Medici.
A stroll through the French gardens makes a pleasant end to your visit.
Then a visit to the Château d'Amboise
This medieval fortress gave way to a royal residence during the reigns of King Charles VIII and François I during the late fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries. The Court at Amboise was host to scholars and artists from around Europe, who came to stay at the invitation of the sovereign. One of these was no less than Leonardo da Vinci, whose tomb is to be found in the chapel.
Next, visit the Leonardo da Vinci park at the Château du Clos Lucé in Amboise, a pink brick Renaissance mansion where Leonardo da Vinci spent the last years of his life.
In the château you step into the intimacy of Leonardo's life, visiting his room, his study, his kitchen and the beautiful Renaissance rooms in brick and stone. Here you'll find forty fabulous machines reconstructed from the master's drawings.

Visit the Château of Azay le Rideau
Built in the sixteenth century on an island in the middle of the river Indre in the most beautiful countryside, this château is one of the best examples of Renaissance architecture we have.
Free visit of the gardens of the Château de Villandry.
The fabulous gardens of Villandry surround the last great châteaux built on the banks of the Loire during the Renaissance (1536) like some vast Renaissance jewellery box. Walk through one of the most beautiful gardens in France, constructed on three levels.
