Les Puces de Saint-Ouen
 
The mother of all flea markets and the biggest market of antiques in the world. At the Puces de Saint-Ouen, there are 1,000 retailers dealing in fashion, artisanal products and second-hand clothes, and 2,500 retailers dealing in antiques and second-hand goods. Some shops in the streets of Paris have acquired a reputation for being specialists in the retro spirit.
 
This market roots come from after the war of 1870, when the scavengers started to install their shanties in the field between the houses and the fortifications of St-Ouen. More than a market, it's a real sightseeing point. It is the meeting point of different civilisations, cultures and trends and the atmosphere makes you feel like a real Parisian. Here you will find everything you want.

Les Puces de Montreuil
 
This great junky flea market is one of the most popular in Paris and the most typical. It is as old as Saint-Ouen as its living since 1860. Here you will also find everything you're looking for as soon as you bother to antique. You can even by shoes as individual unit! This market is the symbol of the Sunday's stroll where each one comes to make good deals.

Les Puces de Vanves
This is the third biggest flea market of Paris and a quieter one. This is a market for antiques full of charm and authenticity. Here, both professional collectors and amateurs will find what they want.

Marché aux Fleurs
 
Place de la Madeleine, 8e (daily except Mon from 8 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.): a beautiful flowers market where it's pleasant to wander. The location is great, on the square, near the church, surrounded by the most famous caterers.
Place Lépine, 4e (daily, from 8 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.). You'll find here a huge range of flowers, plants and some useful advice from the salesmen.
Place des Ternes, 8e (daily except Mon from 8 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.)

Marché aux Oiseaux
(birds market)
 
Place Lépine, 4e (On Sunday morning) all types of birds from the most common ones to some extremely rare.

Marché d'Aligre 12e


This popular food market was born in 1779 and is open every day except on Monday. You should go there on the week end to appreciate the atmosphere and make the best bargains. The stands are full of life and colours, marked by a strong North African presence. Come here to discover the French succulent food and products of the land.

Marché de Buci 6e


This is not a big market but surely one of the liveliest food markets. It has a good selection and good quality products. You will be charmed by the provincial atmosphere and you should go there at best on Sunday morning.

Marché Mouffetard 5e
It is located at the lower end of Rue Mouffetard. Shops spill out to join pavement stalls, cascading with fruit and vegetables, cheeses, seafood, pâtés, sausages, bread and more, with an occasional exotic touch. You will be enthused by the colours of the district, the typical street animations and the friendly atmosphere.
