Welcome at Amiens, Arras, Longueau or Saint Quentin train station by ± 9 am then visit the Australian 1st Division Memorial at Pozieres and the site of Gibraltar pillbox fortification. Visit Pozieres military cemetery where many Australian soldiers are buried from the fight for Pozieres, their first major engagement in France. Then visit the windmill site, the highest part of the Somme battlefield, where a memorial stands honouring the 23,000 fallen Australians. Close by is the grave of Private Russ Bosisto who was found 80 years after the battle. Visit the preserved trenches at Beaumont Hamel and the memorial to the 36th Ulster Division. Then see the gigantic Lochnagar mine crater and the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing British of the Somme with its 73,000 names
In the afternoon we will head off to visit the where the fighting took place in 1918. We will stop at the 3rd Australian Divisional Memorial on the Morlancourt ridge continuing onto the Red Baron crash site. Next we will visit the National Australian Memorial in France dedicated to the 11,000 missing in France at Villers-Bretonneux. From there, you will be able to imagine how close the Germans came to taking Amiens in the spring of 1918 before being stopped by the Australians. In the town of Villers-Bretonneux is the Victoria school and museum and from there we will see the famous playground sign 'Never forget Australia'. In the area, we will also visit the Adelaide Cemetery, from where the unknown Australian Warrior was taken in 1993 and now rests in Canberra.
Tour end by ± 6 pm at train station in Amiens, Arras or Saint Quentin.

Come and join us for a day of remembrance. During that day you will discover this part of France which suffered severely in the violent and bloody battles of the Great War (First World War). We will explore this area where a dramatic period of history took place, The Somme Battlefields and its major sites (memorials, cemeteries and traces of battles): Delville Wood at Longueval, "At Longueval, the South-African national memorial honour the South African troops who underwent their baptism of fire in Delville Wood, known as "Devil's Wood". Of the 3,200 men who went into the attack of 15 July 1916, only 143 came out unharmed 5 days later."
The Lochnagar Crater"Located at La Boisselle, the Lochnagar Crater is an impressive mine hole 100 meters across and 30 meters deep."
Pozière, the Welsh Memorial at Mametz Wood.
Thiepval"One of bitterly contested places of the battle of the Somme, during which some 1 300 000 persons lost their lives. The Thiepval Memorial was inaugurated in 1932 to commemorate the 73000 Commonwealth dead without a known grave." The Ulster Tower.
Beaumont-Hamel site "The Newfoundland Memorial offers a realistic and moving view of these battles in its remarkably well-preserved trenches system."
Villers-Bretonneux "This imposing white stone memorial, inaugurated in 1938, set behind a Commonwealth War Grave site, includes a high central tower joined to two corner pavilions by simple walls on which are engraved the names of the 11,000 Australian soldiers who died in France. Every year an ANZAC DAY ceremony is held here."
The Historial at Péronne"The Historial is an international and cultural museum of the first world war [1914-1918]. It explains the conflict, its origins and its consequences. The Historial boasts a unique collection of over 50 000 original objects and documents of everyday life during the war."
