TS11 - DAY TRIP ALBI AND CARCASSONNE - 11H - $471.51
Departure from Toulouse
From 08.30 to 18.45
Albi: You will visit the impressive Sainte-Cecile Cathedral church, which looks like a fortress from the outside, but is entirely painted and sculpted on the inside.
Next to the Cathedral is the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum, presenting the largest collection of works by the artist, born in Albi in 1864.
After seeing the beautiful “French gardens” at the foot of the museum, discover on your own the other heritage treasures of the historical centre: Saint-Salvy cloister, the medieval streets lined with half-timbered houses, the Vegan square, the covered market (open every morning from Tuesday to Sunday)…
Carcassonne: you will first discover the Narbonnaise gate, main entrance into the city. The tour takes you for a walk between the two defensive walls, before discovering the medieval streets leading to the Count’s Castle, former residence of the great Trencavel dynasty, who ruled the city until the 13th century. Finally the tour will take you to Saint-Nazaire church, where a fantastic collection of medieval stained glass windows awaits you.
