Visit of the CHATEAU of AMBOISE, built in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries on the orders of Charles VIII, Louis XII and François I, the Château D'Amboise was one of the first truly "royal" residences. It is a prestigious example of combined Gothic and Renaissance architecture.
Today, the château houses an exceptional collection of beautifully preserved furniture.
Then, visit of the CLOS LUCÉ - PARC LEONARDO DA VINCI. A marvel of the Renaissance art, in red bricks and tuff, pure happiness accentuated by the playful game of red brick with white stone, was the residence of Leonardo Da Vinci during the last years of his life.
Lunch in Amboise.
In the afternoon departure for the second part of your tour for the visit of the CHATEAU of CHAMBORD.
More than four centuries after its construction, Chambord still defies the imagination: 156 metres of stone façades, 56 metres high, and 440 rooms.
Built like a fortress with its castle keep and curtain wall, its Gothic roofs bristling with chimneys, turrets and dormers, it looks like something straight out of the great tales of chivalry.
Chambord is the dream come true of a young king, just twenty five years old, François 1st. Enamoured by the sweet life of the Loire Valley and basking in the success of his first military campaigns, his intention was to build the most lavish hunting lodge, and that is what that history has bequeathed to us.
Then, visit of the CHATEAU of CHENONCEAU.
Built in the sixteenth century, this is one of the purest early French Renaissance style works. Constructed on the foundations of an ancient fortified water mill in the river bed itself, the square main building forms the original château. On the “Pont de Diane” bridge stands the two-level gallery of Catherine de Medici.
A stroll through the French gardens makes a pleasant end to your visit.
