Are you a passionate diver and a fan of outdoor activities? This tour offers diving adventures (all levels, beginners are welcome) in the diverse watery kingdom of Corsica. Reserve your afternoons for nature hikes through the wild and overwhelming scenery with stunning lookouts.

Day 1 Ajaccio - Porto

Upon arrival collect your car hire category A

Inclusive: airport charge, insurances (CDW, THF, LAF) unlimited km. Optional to be paid locally: Additional driver, young driver extra charge - 25 years, GPS.

 

Your trip from Ajaccio to Porto will take around 2 hours. Head north on the Coastal Road, pass through the towns of Sagone and Cargèse before going uphill in direction of the high plateau of Piana where you will discover an amazing rocky landscape before reaching Porto.

Day 2 Porto - Évisa

Suggestion: Diving Experience on the site of Monte Rosso

Travel time: 5 minutes, surface: 38 m. steep face dive into a colourful coral riff with shoals of sea bream.

This activity depends on the weather condition and the discretion of your diving instructor – levels: beginner to advance.

 

Suggestion: Hike into the Heart of the Forest Aïtone

The forest Aïtone is situated at the foot of the pass Col de Vergio near the village of Evisa, and reaches an altitude of 2000 m. One of the most amazing landscape of the Isle of Beauty has to offer. You may choose a relaxing walk or rather opt for a challenging hike.

On the island of contrasts, the green lush forest is a natural wonder in the middle of an arid rocky hinterland. You will find rare bird species and may even come across a cow or a wild boar… Crystal clear torrents and gushing cascades cross the landscape and invites you to a dip into the pure waters!

Day 3 Porto

Suggestion: Diving Experience on the site of Scondola

The wreck of Saint-Mathieu in 3 to 50 m depth, travel time: 45 minutes.

This activity depends on the weather condition and the discretion of your diving instructor – levels: beginner to advance.

 

Suggestion: Diving Experience on the Site of the Sec des Calanques

Surface: 40 m, travel time: 15 minutes, canyon peak, beautiful maritime site, splendid view and sight.

Day 4 Porto - Galéria - Calvi

Suggestion: Diving Experience on the site of Vardiola

Depth: 4-32 m, travel time: 20 minutes, species-rich coral reef.

This activity depends on the weather condition and the discretion of your diving instructor – levels: beginner to advance.

 

Suggestion: Visit of Galéria

The small fishing village of Galéria has been largely spared by tourism, and is surrounded by green woodland. It is situated on the 83km. long serpentine road linking Calvi to Porto and offers a stunning panoramic view over one of Corsica’s most beautiful landscapes.

Wild and romantic coasts, bright red shimmering rocks and lonely hidden bays characterize the magic scenery. In the bay of Galéria and at the estuary of the Fango River you will find preserved bathing spots, directly at the estuary behind the dune, the river is shaped like a small lake and offers an ideal swimming area. Enjoy the crystal clear waters of the river and the paradisiac setting, declared UNESCO biosphere reserve.

Day 5 Calvi - L'Île-Rousse

Suggestion: Spend a Day in the Beautiful Region of the Balagne

La Balagna is renowned for its olive groves and uncountable churches, owing it the surname “la Sainte Balagna”. Today it is mainly a popular sea resort. Fragrant Macchia (the typical Mediterranean shrubs), picturesque villages, idyllic beaches with Caribbean flair and crystal clear water, lookouts with stunning views will take your breath away and capture your attention!

Take a trip to the picturesque port city of Calvi, over the century’s part of the Genoese Empire, and according to legend, the birthplace of Christopher Columbus. One of the town’s highlights is the chapel Notre Dame de la Serra, built on a promontory overlooking the town.

The pretty colourful Marina, one of the islands most beautiful gulfs, extends to a 5 km. long beach and is surrounded by a 32-hectare-large pine wood.

The Balagne is proud of its arts and crafts, and the savoir-faire of its artisans who still cherish old technics and traditions. Make a detour to the many workshops manufacturing bronze, cutlery, glass, ceramic, or wood. The artisans will be happy to show you around!

Day 6 Corte - Vivario

Suggestion: Visit of Corte and its Rich Historic Treasures

In the middle of the 18th century, during the period of Pasquale Corti, a Corsican revolutionary and freedom fighter, Corte was the capital of the independent state. The endless fights of the middle Ages and the wars of independence have left their marks. Take a walk up to the citadel overlooking the surrounding valleys and soak up the stunning scenery.

The citadel hosts the anthropology museum Musée de la Corse presenting the customs, rites and traditions of the Corsican farmers and shepherds, the FRAC exposing contemporary art, the Centre of scientific and technical culture.

The surroundings of Corte, the hilly land of the Col de Vizzanova, and the Restonica valley, Le Vecchio and Agnone are abound with wild creeks and torrents. There you will find many idyllic bathing spots.

Day 7 Vivario

Suggestion: Individual Mountain Tour to the Cascade des Anglais

Your mountain guide will take you to a unique glacial valley. After a two-hour walk along an ancient path, formerly used for the seasonal migration of sheep and goats, you will reach a magic spot with vestiges of old sheep-farms, napping on the bank of a mountain stream hatched by a big beech grove – the ideal moment for a break and a refreshing dip in the Cascade!

Once rested, you will continue to the pass Col de Vizzavona. During the whole tour, your guide will attract your attention to the untouched flora and fauna, as well as to the cultural heritage of the region.

Included: you will be accompanied by an English and French speaking official mountain and tourist guide. Venue and departure time: at 9.00. Ending around 16.00.

Day 8 Ajaccio

Suggestion: Stroll through Ajaccio and swim in the warm waters of the Mediterranean Sea

Ajaccio is Corsica capital. The main street is rue Fesch, a very pleasant pedestrian street hosting the Fine Art Museum. Take a stroll through the narrow streets, make a detour to the marina and the Place du Diamant. The stature of Napoleon (still omnipresent in Corsica), on horseback and ornamented like a Roman Emperor, is erected in the centre of the square.

What about a last swim in the warm Mediterranean water? Nearby you will find the beach of Scudo, with its crystal clear water amid a beautiful preserved setting, it’s the ideal spot to say goodbye – and definitely to make you want to come back!
