Suggestion: Visit of Bastia

Take a stroll through the historic city of Bastia and immerse yourself in the easy-going Mediterranean ambiance.

Browse around the abundant colourful markets and soak up the cheerful atmosphere. Cheese, fish, sea food, cold cuts, honey, olives, wine and many other regional delicatessen are praised with the typical Mediterranean loquaciousness.

Day 2 Penta-di-Casinca - Cervione

Suggestion: Free Visit of the Costa Verde

Beaches as far as the eye can see, cliffs overhanging the sea and typical Corsican villages carved into the stone.

Marked hiking trails will lead you through the preserved untouched scenery.

Manifold handicraft shops and local producers offer traditionally manufactured handiwork, natural cosmetics, local produce, and delicatessen.

Day 3 Porto Vecchio - Pianottoli-Caldarello - Bonifacio

Suggestion: Stroll through the port town of Porto Vecchio or relaxing Beach Day

The old fishing town of Porto Vecchio (“old port”) is situated in the south of the island near the woodlands of Ospedale.

Hidden behind a mountain and therefore not visible from the sea, Porto Vecchio has never shown the typical signs of a Genoese settlement.

Take a stroll along the old port, and immerse yourself in the Corsican ambiance on one of the many café or restaurant terraces.

Nature lovers may want to hike through the nearby woodland of Ospedale.

You just want to relax on one of the many spectacular beaches? You will be spoilt for choice!

Suggestion: Visit of Bonifacio

On your way to Bonifacio you will drive through the Plaine Orientale alongside the rocky landscape of the Alta Rocca and the massif of Les Aiguilles de Bavella. You will pass through the lively port city of Porto Vecchio, a popular tourist destination. It name may refer to the Roman port that left traces in the vicinity. The old upper town is definitely worth a visit!

You will reach the southern tip of Corsica in less than 3 hours. The picturesque port city of Bonifacio is enclosed in the Calanque de Fazia, an impressing fjord-like bay. The narrow medieval town is built on a rocky chalk-white limestone promontory shaped by wind, waves and spray.

Throughout history it was the theatre of many armed conflicts and therefore built into a fortress. The first walls of the citadel were raised in the 9th century. From the cliffs you will enjoy a beautiful panoramic view over the Strait of Bonifacio (the sea gate between Corsica and Sardinia) and the International Maritime Park, one of the most remarkable natural sites in the Western Mediterranean.

 

Day 4 Bonifacio - Pianottoli-Caldarello

Suggestion: Visit of Bonifacio – the Picturesque Corsican Capital

Benefit from this free day to leave on a tour of rich medieval heritage the city and benefit by the same occasion from its luxuriance from landscapes. Leave in hiking, green leisure incomplete rebirth. Walk in not less than 8 littoral path marked out offering spectacular sights.

And if walking is not your taste, the city offers other excursions on horse, VTT or quad, which will allow you to discover an hinterland, rich in old constructions and memorable places with Corsican authentic products. And to be increasingly closer to the Corsican culture, discover the small delicatessen which offers selected Corsican products: wines, cheeses, pork-butcheries, jams, honeys, biscuits…Corsica is a true gastronomical country which offers products of quality and of personality.

Day 5 Sartène - Serriera

Suggestion: Take a Tour to the Hinterland and visit the small Town of Sartène

Sartène, “the most Corsican of all Corsican towns “offers a stunning panoramic view from the Gulf of Valinco to the massif of the Aiguilles de Bavella. Take a stroll through the picturesque narrow alleys and make a stop in one of the manifold shops offering local handcraft and delicatessen. Most shops propose tastings, why not treat yourself?

One of the town's most interesting museums is the “A Casa di Roccapina” offering exhibitions, shows and interactive activities. Audio-guides in English and many other languages will be at your disposal.

Here you will also find prehistoric standing stones such as menhirs and megaliths.

Day 6 Serriera

Day 7 Piana - Porto

Suggestion: Boat Trip through the Natural Maritime Reserve of Scandola

Take an unforgettable boat trip through the natural maritime reserve of Scandola (UNESCO World Heritage list), and the wild landscape of the Calanques de Piana. You will discover one of Corsica’s most fascinating natural sites, abundant in diversified plants and birds life, some are endangered endemic species. If you are lucky you might catch a glimpse of a fish eagle or a peregrine falcon.

Day 8 Calvi - L'Île-Rousse - Saint-Florent 

Suggestion: Spend a Day in the Beautiful Region of the Balagne

La Balagna is renowned for its olive groves and countless churches, owing it surname of “la Sainte Balagna”. Today it is mainly a popular sea resort. Fragrant Macchia (typical Mediterranean shrubs), picturesque villages, idyllic beaches with Caribbean flair and crystal clear water, lookouts with stunning views will take your breath away and capture your attention!

Take a trip to the picturesque port city of Calvi, for several centuries’ part of the Genoese Empire, and according to legend, the birthplace of Christopher Columbus. One of the town’s highlights is the chapel Notre Dame de la Serra, built on a promontory overlooking the town.

The pretty colourful Marina, one of the islands most beautiful gulfs, extends to a 5 km-long beach and is surrounded by a 32-hectare-large pine wood.

The Balagne is proud of its arts and crafts, and the savoir-faire of its artisans who still cherish old techniques and traditions. Make a detour to the many workshops manufacturing bronze, cutlery, glass, ceramic or wood. The artisans will be happy to show you around!

Day 9 Saint-Florent

Suggestion: Free Day in Saint-Florent

An ideal trip for wine lovers! Wine has been grown there for some 2000 years. Enjoy the trip on the picturesque wine route along the vineyards of Patrimonio and Saint-Florent. Its charming marina is also called “the Corsican Saint-Tropez”. Take a stroll along the quay or have a nice meal in one of the many sea food restaurants. Very impressing is the citadel built into the water.
