Situated in a 17th century manor house, the Musée de Montmartre is nestled between two charming gardens and overlooks Montmartre’s vineyard. It houses a unique collection of paintings, posters and photographs that help you to relive the “boheme artistique” of Montmartre, the spirit of its celebrated cabarets as well the important history of the mount itself. Inside, you will find works by Modigliani, Kupka, Steinlen, Toulouse-Lautrec, Valadon and Utrillo. There is even a room dedicated to the Chat Noir Cabaret’s famous “chef d’œuvre”, the Shadow Theatre.
Les Jardins Renoir, a painter’s gardens
Just a stone’s throw from Place du Tertre, uncover three hidden gardens, “les Jardins Renoir”, tucked either side of the Musée de Montmartre with their view over the vineyard. An important part of the Museum’s collection in themselves, they allow you to fully immerse yourself in Renoir’s paintings and the impressionist palette.
