You’ll meet your guide before making your way to your first covered passage, the Galerie Véro-Dodat. This classy walkway adorned with its original gas lamp fixtures and wood panelling will set the mood right off the bat.
You’ll then enter the world of the Palais Royal. After learning a bit about the palace’s history you’ll be taken through the courtyard where children play on a surprising art installation hidden in the heart of the city. From there the Palais Royal’s gardens will be a treat for the eyes with colourful flower beds, arcaded walkways, and rows of linden trees.
Your covered passage exploration continues with the Galerie Vivienne and Passage Choiseul. A walk past Napoléon’s former stock exchange building will bring you to a historic candy shop with ties to Marie-Antoinette. You can still buy her favourite chocolates today!
The Passage des Panoramas will offer yet another glimpse into Paris’s past in a cosy cacophony of old stamps and postcards, bistros, ethnic eateries, and plenty of historic charm. This will be followed by the Passage Jouffroy known for its unique window displays, its tea room, and the Hotel Chopin where the composer often spent time.
