TS10 - SAINT ANTONIN NOBLE VAL & BRUNIQUEL – 4H30 - $280.14
Departure from Toulouse
From 08.30 to 13.00 or 13.30 to 18.00
Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val is nestled at the crossing of two rivers: the Aveyron River (which the Romans called « the Noble Valley »), and the Bonette River. The original abbey which the village originated from was transformed into a neo-gothic church in the 19th century. However the village has kept its authenticity: many houses have been beautifully restored by their current owners, and the village remains active all year round.
You will visit the village with your driver-guide: on the main square you will see the oldest civil house built in France (1125) and the picturesque covered market, and walking through the village you will discover the old tanneries, the “King’s house”, the different locations where the film « The Hundred-Foot Journey » was shot, and more…
If you visit the village on a Sunday morning you will get to see the colourful market, which is spread out along the streets.
Between Saint-Antonin and Bruniquel, driving along the cliff road, you will stop to get the best view over the Aveyron canyons, for a beautiful reminder of what is this “Noble Val”.
Bruniquel is enlisted as “One of the most beautiful villages of France”. It was built upon a hill overlooking the Aveyron River. Two castles stand at the top of the village.
You will visit the village with your driver-guide, discovering the “Clock gate” (“Porte de l’horloge”), many medieval houses, and breathtaking views over the castles and the Aveyron River… This village is really charming!
